Wood creations from Moldova at Odessa Mini Maker Faire

Part science fair, part county fair, and part something entirely new – Maker Faire is a gathering of tech enthusiasts, crafters, educators, tinkerers, hobbyists, engineers, science clubs, authors, artists, students, and commercial exhibitors of all ages. All of these “makers” will come to Maker Faire to show what they have made and to share what they have learned.

Odessa Mini Maker Faire is a collaboration between Maker Hub from Kyiv and Atelier 99 from Chisinau, who hope to gather makers, tech enthusiasts, and inventors.  And because it’s summer, Odessa seems to be the perfect location to make it happen.

Atelier 99 worked on finding projects from the Republic of Moldova for Odessa Maker Faire and here you can read more about some of them:

“Etienne” created by Stefan Burlacu it a stool concept with an inspired shape from the symbiotic harmony between the triangle and the circle. Intended for use within buildings where it gives a dynamic aesthetic element to the ambience. The triangular arrow-shaped section on the seating surface indicates the direction of the posture of the human body and gives a comfortable grab when being transported. In the beginning, when people saw the design they changed the name from the “Etienne” to the “Pacman”.

Naghirneac Roman and Sergiu Ceban designed a folding sled that fits in the car trunk. In order to create an aesthetic design, they made the sled using a combination of leather, aluminum and wood veneer.

At the ”Trommigou” stand you will find wood crafting for the soul. Maria Babii and Diana Iularji will show you that you can do from plywood: different types of decoration for home, weddings and other special events, making them memorable.
